Description:

Tri Cities is a community-based Cancer Center owned by the region’s three local hospitals. This project is the new medical oncology wing that provides outpatient diagnostics and treatment. Shown here is the infusion area. Patients receiving chemotherapy will spend anywhere from 20 minutes to six hours here. The design concept is to provide a restful and contemplative setting. Large north-facing windows gather light and keep out the sun. A garden wall surrounding the infusion area provides privacy and shelters a seasonal garden.

As a non-profit organization, Tri Cities Cancer Center relies on donors to support an endowment to offset the cost of cancer care. Art installations at the Center offer potential donor-naming opportunities. One of the largest art installation on the west coast is the series of steel arches found at the main entry to the new wing.
